Sightseeing and Geocaching around Homer

We have been doing some sightseeing around Homer while we were geocaching. So grab your hat here we go.
The Homer Spit with the Harding Glacier in background.

The little house on the top of the hill.

When you are out with Liz you never know where she will show up - or not! This was a hiking trail up on Diamond Ridge.

Once I really got concerned because with her hands up I still couldn't see her. I knew she couldn't see me. Those flowers will grow up there! She is hiding behind the fireweed.

You are kidding aren't you? That's a trail?

Happy White-Winged Crossbill.

Lots of birds in this picture. Northwestern Crow and Yellowlegs.

Immature Northwestern Crow begging for mom to feed him.

Finally got mom's attention.

What a nice gull.
Family of Sandhill Cranes. Babies got lots of feathers to grow in a short time.

Liz showed me this interesting shot. Beach sand here is black.

So I encouraged Liz by telling her I knew she could walk on water. Just look at those stones. But she left me stranded on the other side.

Interesting cloud formations as they change in just moments here.

  1. Very interesting. Have you seen any of the places Sue Henry mentions in her books? It's funny that you are there where they have black sand and I am here where they have snow white sand.
